Learning About Astronomy

Since 1960 we have been an extremely active group of amateur astronomers who have always tried to find ways to share our passion for the night sky.

Members of the public can attend any of our monthly public lecture series held in the Clanfield Memorial Hall which are given by some of the best astronomical experts in the UK . These lectures can be found on the Monthly Public Talks page of our website.

In addition to local schools, uniformed groups and adult interest groups coming to the observatory to observe the night sky we have a number of courses specifically designed for members of the public who wish to delve deeper into this fascinating subject. All of these are held at the observatory.
